Summary

This route offers a great combination of ancient history Hanseatic League buildings with classical turn-of-the-century Baltic seaside resorts and lovely countryside. Starting in Luebeck, the Gateway to the Baltic, you make your way to Stralsund, the Hanseatic town on the Sound, through woods, fields and past some glorious beaches.

The aristocratic Baltic resorts of the former East Germany stand on a beautiful shoreline of chalk cliffs and vast, sandy beaches. But although the coast has been welcoming Western visitors since German reunification, it remains uncrowded, unspoilt and utterly peaceful.
