Summary

Lake Balaton, the largest shallow fresh water lake in Central Europe, sprung up around 25 thousand years ago and is now a popular resort with settlements along its shore offering plenty of opportunities for recreation and leisure time activities. This tour leads you around the lake where you will enjoy a variety of landscapes including many small villages with their traditional houses and yards, and its unique flora and fauna that is still visible in its original and authentic environment. The region is also famous for its wine-making!

This tour is suitable for all cyclists. The major part is on fairly flat terrain through peaceful and unspoilt countryside. It is also a great tour for families. As well as the countryside and beaches there are zoos, water parks, and working farms to visit. Children’s bikes, trailers and tagalongs can be provided if required.
