Summary

Beginning in the Swiss Alps, the Vorderrhein passes through the Surselva region and into the wild romantic Vorderrhein canyon where it meets with the Hinterrhein, becoming The Rhine and then on past Austria and Liechtenstein to Lake Constance and Basel. This is the most popular route in Bike Haven Switzerland – only minor gradients – ideal for everybody including families.

IOt is also possible to spilt the route into two separate shorter tours:
Disentis to Schaffhausen 8 days/7 nights
Schaffhausen to Basel 5 days/4 nights

Plus there are budget accommodation options = Youth hostels or similar, share-a-room 4 – 8 beds.
