Arrival at Luebeck, the “Queen of the Hanseatic League” of towns. If there is time, explore the charming old part of town with its many restaurants. A particularly picturesque city where you will discover in excess of 1,000 historic buildings, so many in fact that Lubeck has been listed as a World Heritage Site since the mid-1980s.
After a short ride to the traditional Baltic seaside resort of Travemuende it is by boat to Priwall. Then you cycle through the peaceful landscape “Kluetzer Winkel” to seaside resort Boltenhagen. Along cliffs and past beautiful beaches you arrive in Wismar, one of the nicest old towns in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region.
It is worth spending some time visiting the historic section of Wismar before heading off along the “Kuehlung”, a well-wooded and hilly landscape – fantastic for nature lovers, to the coastal resort of Kuehlungsborn.
You cycle through a flat landscape along the Baltic coast to Warnemuende, the seaside resort not far from Rostock. If you like you can detour to Bad Doberan, with its historic train Molli that still runs, and cycle leisurely to Warnemuende through the countryside.
After a stroll along the 'Old Stream', where the old fishing boats meet the new sailing ships, leave Warnemuende and cycle along the 'Hochuferweg' to Wustrow and the artists colony Ahrenshoop. Overnight stay on Fischland.
Cycling through the forest, Darßer Urwald, you'll reach Prerow where you should try to visit the beautiful west coast beach. Then you cycle to Barth through the National Park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, an important site for cranes and grey geese.
Leaving Barth a long the bay you cycle to Stralsund. From a distance you can pick out the old Hanseatic town by its three church spires. Here your tour will end.
After breakfast you start your journey home.
