Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday):
Arrive in Marmaris

Arrange own travel to the Turkish airports of Izmir or Dalaman and make your way to departure port of Marmaris and check-in from 2pm. If you fly into Dalaman you will be collected and transferred to the boat. First dinner on board.

Day 2 (Sunday):
Island Symi, 6 miles (10km)

Your first boat passage with the Bahriyeli will take you to Symi, which will take approximately 5 hours. The entrance to the port is an unforgettable impression of your journey: neo- classical, pastel coloured houses, which are remnants of the former riches of the sponge divers on the island, emboss the picture of the island capital and refer to the rich history of the island.  You will have the opportunity to try your bicycles and then take a first swim in the Aegean sea during a small cycle tour to a beach. In the evening your guide will accompany you up the almost 500 steps to the highest point of the town. From here you will have a breathtaking view of the harbor and the deep bay.

Day 3 (Monday):
Island Symi – Island Tilos, 16 + 9 miles (25 + 15 km)

After breakfast you will set out on your bike to cross over the island. On a winding road you will slowly crest the mountain while having lots of time to enjoy the many beautiful panoramic views. Final destination is the bay of Panormitis with a Byzantine monastery, which is dedicated to Michael the Archangel.

Day 4 (Tuesday):
Island Nissyros – Island Chalki, 19 miles (30 km)

Early in the morning the Halis Temel will cross over to the volcanic island of Nissyros. Today’s cycle tour guides us to Nikia which is a village built directly on the edge of the crater and has a wonderful view over the volcano. You will be spellbound by the white houses and the numerous pebble mosaics. You must take the chance to enjoy a Greek coffee in the village square. From here you will cycle on to the volcanic crater with its steaming sulphur springs and then finally back to the small harbor town of Mandraki, whose charm has attracted visitors for centuries. In the afternoon the Bahriyeli will move on to Chalki where you can relax and enjoy the rest of the evening in a charming Greek fishing port.

Day 5 (Wednesday):
Island Rhodes, Plimiri - Lindos, 22 miles (35 km)

The morning will be spent on board during the cross over from Plimiri to the Island of Rhodes. From here you will cycle close to the coast on roads with light traffic. During a break in a café directly on the sea you might see the Bahriyelli passing, which will be waiting for you later on in Lindos. This village is one of the most beautiful ones on Greece. After the last ascent you can enjoy an unforgettable view of this small idyllic town with its white cubic houses and narrow alleys which is dominated by the walls of a medieval fortress of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem and the remains of the ancient acropolis.

Day 6 (Thursday):
Island Rhodos, Lindos- Kolymbia- Rhodes town, 23 miles (37 km)

Today our tour leads from Lindos into the fertile, agricultural hinterland of Rhodes. You will cycle through old olive tree groves on small side roads on to Archangelos where you may like to stop for lunch at a  typical Greek taverna. The boat is waiting at the end of an impressing eucalyptus alley in the tiny port of Kolymbia to bring you to Rhodes town. The rest of the afternoon you can stroll through the fantastic medieval old town.

Day 7 (Friday):
Island Rhodes, Rhodes town- Marmaris (approx. 3 hours walking)

After breakfast the travel guide will take you on a thrilling walking expedition through the 2400 year old history of the island capital. The deer and the doe at the entrance of the Mandraki port will offer a first opportunity for a photo. One still wonders if this is the place where the Colossus of Rhodes was once situated. From here you will move on to the moat of the crusader town. Even today Rhodes monumental walls contribute to its unique character. A walk though the countless alleys with its impressing constructions will make this guided city tour an unforgettable experience.  Afterwards the Bahriyelli will take you back to Marmaris where you will once again have the possibility to visit the bazaar or the hammam. After the last dinner on board you say goodbye to your tour guides and the crew of the Bahriyeli.

Day 8 (Saturday):
Departure from Marmaris

After breakfast on board you will check out and start to make your way home.
