Arrival in the legendary village of Terchova, located in the Mala Fatra mountain range, one of the most beautiful and visited areas of Slovakia.

Day 2:
A circular route from Terchova, 11 or 20 miles (18 or 32km)

A circular route through the hills where you will be rewarded with stunning views. A visit to Janosikovci, the real birth place of Juraj Janosik, the Slovak Robin Hood, before returning to Terchova. There is also an option to include some extra cycling to / from Vratna with the possibility to take the cable car to Chleb 1475 m. for lovely views over the Mala Fatra national park. Second night in Terchova

Day 3:
Terchova to Ruzomberok, 31 miles (50km)

The road from Terchova leads you up hill heading to Zazriva then down alongside a river to Parnica with its original timber chalets and shingled roofs. Continue following tracks and minor roads all the way to Ruzomberok. A final detour to Vlkolinec, a traditional Slovak village now containing a folk museum well worth a visit.

Day 4:
Ruzomberok to Liptovsky Mikulas, 25 miles (40km)

From Ruzomberok you will be heading to Lake Liptovska Mara, the largest in Slovakia. Cycling around the lake is one of the highlights with some magnificent views all the way to Liptovsky Mikulas passing the biggest Aqua park in Slovakia called Tatralandia.

Day 5:
Liptovsky Mikulas to Smokovec in High Tatras, 37 miles (59 km)

Leaving Liptovsky Mikulas, today you cycle to Smokovec in the High Tatras passing the village of Liptovsky Jan, an old mountain village dating back to the Middle Ages, an outdoor museum in Pribilina and Strbske Pleso Lake in the High Tatras. Overnight in Smokovec.

Day 6:
Free Day in the High Tatras

Today is your choice. The High Tatras and its surrounding areas offer a wide range of outdoor activities. This could be anything from a lovely, gentle walk around mountain lakes and waterfalls or making use of a cable car to take you to the second highest peak in Slovakia, Lomnicky, and enjoy the stunning views. See the chamois jumping on rocky hills or perhaps eagles soaring above you. The Tatras are also the home to predators such as brown bear, wolf and lynx. There is also the opportunity to visit two of the closest caves Belianska or even the stunning ice cave of Dobsinska. If you are into water sports why not try kayaking, rafting or even traditional rafting on wooden rafts. If you are into history and castles, visit the biggest castle complex in Central Europe, the Spissky Castle. There is simply something for everyone, just choose!  Then your second night in Smokovec.

Day 7:
Smokovec to Poprad, 11 or 18 miles (17 or 29 km)

There are two options to get to Poprad:

The shorter one (17 Km) is directly from Smokovec to Poprad. Most of this is down hill and so getting to Poprad will be relatively quick.

The second option (29 Km) will take you through Mengusovce, a mountain village lying at 825m. Like many villages in the area, the village has a long history, first mentioned as far back as the 14th century. Leaving the village behind us we follow the popular cycle path following a river almost all the way to Poprad.

On arrival you have a number of options. Poprad is the largest and most important town of this area. You should not miss the medieval part of Poprad called Spisska Sobota. To end your day we can recommend a visit to the AquaCity complex where you can unwind and relax in outdoor or indoor thermal pools, wellness centre or have fun on the water attractions.

Day 8:
Depart from Poprad

Checkout from your hotel after breakfast to make your way home. You could take a train to Bratislava to fly home or extend your stay in Bratislava giving yourself time to explore this enchanting city with its many bars and restaurants. Alternatively you could make your way across the border into Poland and fly home from Krakow.

Transfers can be arranged if required.
