Itinerary
Day 1 (Saturday):
Arrive in Dorfibm approx. 35 km north of Salzburg. If you arrive early you can start with an easy ride to nearby moor-lakes.
Day 2 (Sunday):
Via St. Radegund you cycle towards the River Salzach and then to Burghausen. A couple more kilometres takes you to the ancient monk’s brewery of Raitenhaslach with its beautiful historic brewery inn and beer-garden. Along shady forest lanes you return to the hotel. 28 miles
Day 3 (Monday):
A relaxing day with a round of farmer’s golf. Old farm tools were put together to form an impressive “Farmer’s golf course” similar to a giant’s Mini-golf course. You walk about 5 km through tranquil forests, meadows and fields and the idyllic moor. Back at the hotel your day is completed in a most unusual way: you plunge into a large wooden barrel filled with an aromatic beer-bath and sip a pint of beer freshly drawn from the tap next to your barrel. Afterwards a rest on a freshly made bed of straw awaits you.
Day 4 (Tuesday):
After breakfast a bus transfers you to Salzburg and to the “Brewery World” of the biggest private brewery of Austria for a taste of the various beer specialities. You cycle along the River Salzach through the beautiful old town of Salzburg to Oberndorf, where the famous Christmas carol “Silent Night” was written. Return on solitary country lanes to the moor-lakes and the hotel. 28 miles
Day 5 (Wednesday):
Enjoy the hotels facilities: panorama swimming pool with underwater massage, infra-red cabins, solarium, 3 saunas, roller-massage. In the afternoon the friendly hosts serve coffee and cake.
Day 6 (Thursday):
On country lanes you cycle to Michaelbeuern monastery. You then cycle to the idyllic lakes of Mattsee, Obertrumersee and Grabensee which are divided only by small strips of land. In Obertrum am See you again find a brewery with a rural country-inn and beer-garden. Taste three different beer-specialities of the family run brewery Sigl and sustain yourself with a hearty snack of bread and ham. The transfer bus returns you safely to the hotel in time for your evening meal. 22 miles
