Captain Damir's Linda was built in 1955and renovated in 2004/05 to meet the requirements of Island hopping. The ship is a spacious wooden motor yacht and with 31 metres long and 6 metres wide the MY Linda is among the bigger ships in our Croation fleet. The large saloon can accomodate 32 guests and the middle sundeck is constructed in a way that meals can also have to be outside. The ship has 14 cabins: 10 cabins are on deck, 4 are below deck.

We use a German operator for these holidays, and as other agents in Europe and America, such as ourselves, sell these tours it is likely you will have a mix of German and other nationalities on this tour adding to the cultural enjoyment.

Cruise and Cycle in Croatia on the Linda

Itinerary

Map of the National Parks cruise and cycle holiday

Day 1 (Saturday):

Individual approach, either by car to Trogir or by plane to Split. After checking in on the wooden yacht at Trogir and a first lunch on board, you first cruise begins. You are heading for Rogoznica, a small settlement on an island connected to the mainland by a dam. From there you continue by bike to Primosten, where you spend the first night on the ship. 12 miles

Day 2 (Sunday):

During breakfast the boat takes you to Vodice. Then you begin your first extensive bike tour. This trip takes you around Lake Vran to Beograd. Lake Vran is the largest freshwater lake in Croatia. On account of its floral and faunal diversity, a large part of the shore and the lake is protected as a nature park. Today’s lunch is a picnic taken during the bike tour.

When the bike tour is finished, the boat is already waiting for you in Biograd, a very popular harbour for sailboats. 34 miles.

Day 3 (monday):

Your ship takes you to the island of Pasman at the Zadar Canal. You bicycle along the east coast and cross a bridge to reach the island of Ugljan. In a quiet bay you eat your lunch. In the afternoon, the ship takes you to Zadar which, for centuries, was the political, cultural and spiritual center of Dalmatia. Your tour-guide takes you on an extensive walk through the lanes of the lively old center. 3000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortification walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Donatus basilika. Overnight in the harbour of Zadar. 18 miles

Day 4 (tuesday):

In the morning you cruise to the island of Dugi Otok. Your bike tour begins at the bay of Bozava surrounded by pine forests, agaves and tamarisks, along a virtually traffic-free road. At first you bicycle to the lighthouse of Veli Rat and to a deserted beach for swimming. Then, along a panoramic road, you ride clear across the island. During the ride you are treated to countless unforgettable vistas of the islands in the deep-blue sea.

You meet your boat in the beautiful little harbour of Savar and have lunch. Afterwards you continue by bike along the panorama road as far as Sali, where you spend the night. 37 miles.

Day 5 (wednesday):

In the morning you follow in the footsteps of Winnetou: the bike ride takes you into the Telascica nature park, the location of the „Silver Lake“ that played an important role in a film about the famous chief of the Apaches. It is not only the Silver Lake but also the steep cliffs above the sea, which you can explore on foot, that make the visit to this nature park such a great experience.

In the afternoon you go on a cruise through the national park of the Kornati islands, an archipelago of crystall-clear waters known for its diverse flora and fauna. In the peaceful atmosphere of Vodice you spend a relaxing evening. 9 miles.

Day 6 (thursday):

Today you bicycle through arid and mostly thinly populated hinterland to Skradin, where you have lunch. After lunch you explore the lower Krka waterfalls - surviving in their natural beauty – in the national park of the Krka Canyon, a protected geological attraction. Here the Krka River winds its way for the first 10 km through flat land, for another 40 km through deep ravines and for the last 20 km through lakes connected to the sea.

Still before dinner you then continue by boat to Sibenik. The cathedral of St. Jacob is the most famous building in town and part of the UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.

On no account should you miss a visit. In the evening, the numerous bars and cafes are an incentive to go on an extensive walk through the town. 22 and 6 miles.

Day 7 (friday):

In the morning you proceed by boat to Primosten. A last bicycle ride takes you to the hinterland of the coast, through small villages and along little-frequented roads, as far as Trogir.

On your last downhill ride you enjoy once more a wide vista across the coastal region of Split. In the afternoon you stroll through the old quarters of the town, listed as a cultural heritage site, and say farewell to the crew and the tour-guides. 28 miles.

Day 8 (saturday):

Depart from Trogir after breakfast
