"Kapetan Jure" is one of the boats used on this tour and is a 27 metre long and 7 metre wide comfortable and spacious wooden motor yacht that was built in 2000. 11 of the 15 cabins are on deck. 10 of these are furnished with two beds, arranged side by side, while one cabin has bunk beds. The remaining 4 cabins are below deck, and are furnished with a french bed (140 cm wide) and a porthole. Captain Anton and his crew form an experienced team, which offers delicious specialties to their guests. We use a German operator for these holidays, and as other agents in Europe and America, such as ourselves, sell these tours it is likely you will have a mix of German and other nationalities on this tour adding to the cultural enjoyment.

Itinerary

Map of South Dalmatia cruise and cycle holiday

Day 1 (Saturday):

Arrive Trogir. 2.00pm ship sails to Split with your first cycle tour to the Marjan mountain, a popular relaxation destination for the inhabitants of Split, and an after dinner walk through the old town. 12 miles.

Day 2 (Sunday):

After a short crossing to Omis you will cycle into the valley of the Cetina River, which has buried itself deep into the cliff faces. You will return to Omis, with its pirate castles, by way of small side roads through varied landscapes. You also have the option of taking part in a 2 hour rafting tour on the Cetina River. In the afternoon you will cross over to Brac Island with a swimming break and a cycle ride to Pucisca. The famous white marble of Brac which can be seen here has been used for the White House in Washington and in the Reichstag in Berlin. 25 miles

Day 3 (monday):

The route today will start with a long but gentle climb up to the top of the island of Brac, taking you past mulberry, kiwi and fig trees as well as olive groves and vineyards. On the next part of the tour to Bol, you will be rewarded with legendary panoramic views across to the neighbouring island of Hvar. After lunch you will enjoy a long cruise to the island of Korčula, which has competed with Venice in its claim to being the birthplace of Marco Polo. 19 miles.

Day 4 (tuesday):

After a short crossing to Pelješac, the next cycle tour will take you to the famous wineries of Dalmatia (the outstanding Plavac and Dingač wines originate from here) to Trstenik. During lunch you will cross over to the green, wooded island of Mljet, which is also known as the
honey island. In the 12th century Benedictine monks founded a beautifully situated monastery, which you will see on your short cycle ride. The local pine forest is one of the most beautiful of its kind in the entire Mediterranean region – Odysseus is said to have spent 7 years here. Today this region is a national park and the highlight of every Dalmatian journey. 16 and 7 miles.

Day 5 (wednesday):

During breakfast you will sail to Korčula Island. The tranquillity and isolated nature of the lush gardens, with their large Cyprus trees, dominate what is perhaps Dalmatia‘s most beautiful island. You will cycle along the 12km/7 mi. long coastal road to Racisce for lunch. After a short period of pushing your bike to Pupnat you will reach the old 200m/660 ft. high pass road above the magnificent bay of Pupnat and later the village of Blato, which like Rome, was built on 7 hills. Overight stay in the harbour
of Vela Luka. 42 miles

Day 6 (thursday):

After arriving at the port of Hvar you will enjoy a tour of the large Renaissance square, from where you will climb up to the Spanish fort with its legendary panoramic views across the sea to the Paklenica Islands. The cycle route will take you past row upon row of small island villages whose picturesque stone houses are stacked up next to each other. You will overnight in Stari Grad, which has become a Mecca for artists and art lovers in recent years. 28 miles.

Day 7 (friday):

After crossing over to Stomorska on the island of Solta you will commence your last cycle tour. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. In Maslinica you will meet your ship, load the bikes and enjoy your last crossing back to Trogir and perhaps a tour of the old town. 12 miles.

Day 8 (saturday):

Depart from Trogir after breakfast
