Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrival in Würzburg. Take a look at the Residenz, one of the largest and most beautiful baroque palaces in Germany, surrounded by wonderful gardens.
Day 2:
You leave Würzburg on a woody path through the Steinbach valley until you reach Wertheim, a small town located picturesquely at the mouth of the Tauber as it flows into the Main. The beautiful castle ruin made of striking red sandstone lies high above the old city. 25 milesDay 3:
Today you leave the Main and cycle further on through the Tauber valley and on the way you will visit the lovely town of Tauberbischofsheim with its great castle. It is a town surrounded by hills, forests, vineyards and farmland. From now on you follow the Romantic Road to Bad Mergentheim. 31 miles
Day 4:
First of all you will want to do a little sight-seeing of this lively and friendly spa town with its pretty renaissance market place. Soon after leaving Bad Mergentheim you can visit the water fortress of Weikersheim with its park in rococo-style. Finally there's the highlight of your journey, Rothenburg. Stroll around through this world famous gothic town that is surrounded by thick walls with seven doors. 30 miles
