Arrival in Terchova located in the Mala Fatra national park, one of the most beautiful areas of Slovakia. Terchova is also the native village of the legendary hero Juraj Janosik, Slovakia’s own Robin Hood.
Walking in the Mala Fatra national park. There are a variety of routes available ranging from easy to fairly challenging. It is possible to take a chair lift to the Snilovske saddle and then enjoy the long descent but only after enjoying the panoramic views of the close and distant mountain ranges of Slovakia. Back to Terchova for the night.
Another day to explore more paths in the Mala Fatra area. Terchova’s situation makes possible trips to the north and north west towards the area of the Kysucka vrchovina mountains as well. You are spoilt for choice. Then back to Terchova for the final time.
Today at 9.30am you will be transferred by taxi to the northeastern part of the Slovak Paradise national park, an attractive area of karst plateaus, gorges, waterfalls and caves. However, on your way you will be taken to the Dobsinska ice cave which is located in the Slovak Paradise in the Spiš-Gemer karst, which is among the most important karst territories in central Europe. The cave entrance, on the northern slope of the Duca hill, is situated at an elevation of 969 m above sea level. The cave is generally closed on Mondays so if you begin your tour on a Friday you will be transferred direct to Podlesok.
Staying in Podlesok for the next 3 nights, the biggest tourist area lying above the left bank of the River Hornad.
Today you have a choice of walks within the Slovak Paradise again ranging from relatively easy to quite demanding. An easy introduction to the area might be a walk along a short stretch of the Prielom Hornadu canyon and the typical river valley of the Lesnica brook. It passes through a large mountain meadow of Biksova luka below the forested slopes of the Matka Bozia mountain.
Another day to choose a route through the Slovak Paradise. One option would be to walk through the Sucha Bela gorge. A circular tour and comparatively demanding, this walk makes use of wooden and iron ladders, chains, steps and footbridges to negotiate this beautiful and stunning gorge. Make sure you take a camera!
Today you transfer to Bratislava. you will need to take a taxi to Poprad station where you take a train to Bratislava with time on your arrival for some sightseeing of this enchanting city, whether you want to browse around shops, go to some of the many art galleries, take in some live music or just relax in the squares of the centre. It combines elegance with charm. Visitors say that the city has a relaxed Mediterranean type atmosphere.
