Itinerary
Day 1 (FridaY):
Guests are personally met at airport by hosts and guides. They are then transported to their holiday accommodation.
Day 2 (Saturday):
Your first days walking is always a 6 mile “loosener”, designed to get a feel for the fitness level of the group. It does, however, take in a mix of coastal and country scenery, along with an insight into the pre history of Menorca. Including our stop for tea and biscuits on the beach (which we do every day), we should be on the road for about 3.5 to 4 hours. Lunch is taken at the wonderful Sa Branca restaurant, where we are served fresh Menorcan food and wonderful Catalan wine.
Day 3 (Sunday):
An 8 mile/4.5 hour walk through the countryside and valleys of hidden Menorca. This is a naturalist’s dream, with a whole range of wildlife on display at different times of the year. Lunch is taken in the town square of the picture postcard village of Ferreries.
Day 4 (Monday):
A shortish, but none the less testing, 4 hour walk along the dramatic north coast of Menorca. Our walk takes in an ancient Roman port and camp, along with 6 natural and unspoilt golden beaches. Lunch is taken at a restaurant right on the beach at the end of our walk.
Day 5 (Tuesday):
Tuesday is a free day and Carolyn and John, your organisers, will be delighted to help you in any way they can.
Day 6 (Wednesday):
A 4.5 hour/8 mile walk along the south coast of Menorca. Our walk takes in some magnificent views of the Mediterranean, along with historical sightings from the English and French occupations of the Island. Lunch is taken in the Medieval, English built city of Es Castell.
Day 7 (Thursday):
On our final day, our guests take breakfast at the top of Santa Agueda, which is one of the highest points on Menorca. We then follow the Cami de Cavalls (road of horses) along the north east coast of the island. Lunch is taken on the terrace of a refurbished windmill, in the typical Spanish village of Es Mercadal. We expect to be on the road for about 5 hours.
Day 8 (Friday):
Our guests are personally returned to the airport.
