My life with a bike didn’t get off to the best start, my mum still likes to tell the story of how as a child I struggled to take to life without stabilisers on my first bike and on one occasion I decided to get very stroppy and promptly parked my bike at the edge of the park and asked to leave it there.
But things soon changed and I’ve grown to love bikes in almost every shape and form. I’ve owned bikes for the road, mountain and everything in between but my current selection is a fold up that works perfectly for my seafront commute to our office in Hove.
Lake Garda is one of my favourite parts of the world and it's a cyclist’s paradise. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely jaunt along the lake stopping to take in the impressive views with some gelato or up into the vineyard-lined mountain slopes, there’s something for everyone.
Slovenia and Croatia have all both been high on my list of places to explore for a while and Italy is always one of my favourite destinations so I’m planning on doing the Venice to Porec tour as soon as I can!
Best Travel Memory
It’s hard to choose, but scaling a mountain to watch the sunrise in Bali, touring round Barcelona’s beautiful boulevards or pedalling through Thailand’s (often) manic streets all feature quite high on my list.
Strangest Travel Experience
Witnessing elderly gentlemen playing chess, whilst waist deep in water at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath in Budapest was something I hadn’t experienced before.
Top Travel Tip
Don’t leave home without a gadget charger! Mostly everyone now likes to travel with some kind of gadget to record their memories, but if these are always running out of battery it can be frustrating.
