Shikoku and the Shimanami Kaido Bike Tour

Japan

Including one of the best cycling routes you're likely to find, culture steeped in traditional arts and delicious food, our Shikoku and the Shimanami Kaido Bike Tour is a guided cycling trip that warrants travelling halfway around the world. We can personally vouch for that, as Project Manager Saul is cycling it as I write this!

The Shimanami Kaido cycling route

The first two days are spent cycling along the Shimanami Kaido cycling route which runs between a series of five impressive suspension bridges connecting the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

Although the hills put this tour in the 'Moderate' bracket, an e-bike will make light work of the inclines. As well as finding incredible natural beauty, you'll also take in the country's enriching culture by visiting the hilltop castle in Matsuyama and taking part in a workshop to learn about the ancient art of making 'washi' paper.

As you've come this far, we'd recommend adding an extra night in Hiroshima before your tour begins and a night in Kyoto at the end to continue soaking up Japan's unique culture.

Denmark and Sweden Boat & Bike Tour

Denmark and Sweden

The new year brings an exciting opportunity to travel on our first Boat & Bike tour to take place in Denmark and Sweden.

Spend a week seeing the best of these Scandinavian delights, staying aboard an impressive tall ship with 14 sails and cycling across the islands of Øresund which separates Denmark and Sweden. Each day has an exciting start, you'll pack a day bag and board a small dinghy from the ship with your bikes and cruise to the remote islands, to enjoy a new, peaceful ride.

The routes along the coast are spectacular, passing through peaceful fishing villages filled with colourful huts, 70-million-year-old white cliffs, a 13th century church, Denmark’s second-largest lake, and even Hamlet’s castle!

While on your tall ship, you have the option of helping hoist the sails and navigating, alternatively, if you enjoy putting your feet up at the end of the day, just relax and enjoy the spectacular views.

On the evening of day five, the ship drops anchor at the remote island of Møn, where you can admire a starry sky in an area with no light pollution. When you're not exploring remote islands from your saddle, you'll be cycling in two of the most bike-friendly cities in Europe, Copenhagen and Malmö.

Spring Flowers in Holland Boat & Bike Tour

The Netherlands

With our Spring Flowers Short Break tour proving so popular over the years, we've launched a longer 7 night version!

You don't have to be a horticulturist to appreciate the magnificence of Holland’s flowers exploding into full bloom on our Spring Flowers in Holland Boat & Bike Tour. You'll cruise and cycle through the countryside as it comes to life with vibrant colours and floral scents, stopping off at historic cities and gardens along the way.

Canals and Tulip Fields in Northern Holland
Starting from Amsterdam you'll cruise and cycle to an exciting new destination every day!

You'll pedal along the Netherlands' naturally flat cycle paths to visit both the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens where you'll see thousands of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils, and to Aalsmeer to see the spectacle of the Aalsmeer flower auction.

Another highlight of pedalling through Holland's Green Heart is arriving at Zoeterwoude's cheese farm where you'll learn about cheese production and, of course, taste some of the freshly-made cheese before continuing a dairy-themed day to Gouda.
