Cycle around Denmark’s main island of Zealand, starting and finishing in the medieval town of Køge. Following flat and well-marked cycle paths along the coast and through the countryside, you’ll sleep in a different historic town each night, taking breaks at sandy beaches, royal castles and Viking settlements en route.

Pedalling inland, you’ll ride out of Køge - home to the oldest half-timbered house in Denmark. As the route loops around the south and leads you to the fjord-indented west coast at Næstved. Continue on to the Viking fjords and cathedral of Roskilde, before staying two nights in the bike-friendly city of Copenhagen with its candle-lit cafés and cool bars.
