I have been a keen cyclist my whole life and have enjoyed riding my bike all over the world. From mountain biking in Whistler, Canada to cycle touring from John O’Groats to Land’s End in the UK. I believe travel by bicycle is the best way to see a place and encourage others to do so if they get the opportunity.

France. Fantastic food and drink alongside some of the best roads to cycle in the world make France number one in my opinion. The mountain biking in the French Alps is pretty awesome too.

My last cycle tour with Freedom Treks was our Vienna to Budapest Bike Tour, which I cycled in April 2026. It was my first time cycling on an e-bike - I thought it the perfect way to explore this varied route.

There is so much to see off the bike, and the e-bike allowed me to arrive at my destination with fresh legs and the energy to head off out and explore. The mix of peaceful rural countryside alongside interesting towns and cities was perfect. The hearty local food each evening was brilliant too. 

I have my eye on the Dubrovnik to Split Boat & Bike Tour. I’ve always wanted to explore this stretch of Croatian coastline and islands and think a boat & bike tour is the best way to do it!

In 2021 I completed my first long distance cycle tour from John O’Groats to Land’s End via the UK Three Peaks with my best mate. Lots of great memories from riding the highest mountain pass in the UK, stumbling across a music festival along our route, and sleeping in bivvy bags on the summit of Snowdon.

I am a qualified cycle guide and have ridden from London to Paris over 20 times with various groups for charity.

Always make the effort to explore the local area you are staying in. You never know what you might discover!
