What to expect
Start this tour in stunning Stockholm, a city built on 14 islands and connected by 57 bridges, before heading South and exploring a wonderful mix of countryside, stately homes, and coastal villages. The cycling is along country lanes, through forests, meadows and past lakes and is undulating in parts.
Stop to swim in the glistening lakes or in clear Baltic waters whilst enjoying views of the ocean and the endless islands, visit old manor houses with impressive gardens and explore idyllic villages and towns with narrow streets full of colourful wooden houses. Enjoy the peace and a little part of Europe yet to be fully discovered.

Stockholm – Trosa
27 miles (43 km)
Transfer to Stendörren, a beautiful collection of islands due to their tranquillity and unspoilt nature. Swim in the clear Baltic waters or explore the islands using their intriguing suspension bridges before cycling along country lanes and through forests, meadows and lakes. Visit the impressive 17th century Nynäs Manor House before continuing to the seaside town of Trosa known affectionately as the “End of the World” due to its expanse of ocean views.
20 miles (32 km)
Explore the 17th century town of Trosa with its little square, old wooden houses and its canal leading to the ocean. Cycle to the 18th century Tullgarn Palace, perfectly positioned for magnificent views of the Baltic Sea and enjoy lunch in the beautiful gardens. Cycle back to Trosa through everything that is beautiful about Swedish countryside; pine forests, green fields and sparkling lakes.
Trosa – Mariefred
39 miles (62 km)
Pedal along the beautiful shores of Lake Klämmingen stopping to swim in the clear waters and on to the quintessentially Swedish town of Mariefred, founded in 1605 and explore the winding, narrow streets and little square that hasn't changed for decades.
Mariefred - Stockholm
20 miles (32 km)
Choose to visit Mariefred’s 400 year old red-brick Gripsholm fortress (which you may recognise if you own any Abba albums!) and learn about Swedish royal history or cycle through green fields and past more stunning lakes to Taxinge Manor House famous for its delightful cakes. Return either by bike or let the narrow-gauge steam train take the strain back to the quayside. In the afternoon take a three and a half hour ride on a steamboat that has been in operation since 1903 back to Stockholm.

A wonderful way to explore the countryside around Stockholm. Accommodation was charming and relaxing after a day of riding.Mary Harris, Australia , September 2018
Super well organised tour with helpful, friendly and efficient staff both in UK and on the ground. Instructions and suggestions were excellent and well written. We could have done with more time to stop, take in the scenery and breathe (Sweden is beautiful), but overall an excellent experience.Helen Hillier, UK, August 2018
