Arrive in San Salvatore Sinis

Make your way to San Salvatore Sinis – a traditional village with brick, clay and sandstone houses set around a typical square.

Day 2:
San Salvatore Sinis - Sinis Peninsula 33 miles (52 km)

Travel through the fascinating Sinis wetlands where colonies of pink flamingos gather. Continue to the white sands and blue waters of Arutas Beach and the ruins of Tharros – an ancient Phoenician-Roman Port that sits on a finger of land.

Day 3 :
The Sinis Peninsula - Piscinas 29/34 miles (46/54 km)

Transfer to Arborea and cycle through the green landscapes of the Costa Verde, riding past strawberry trees and juniper bushes shaped by the wind. Arrive at Piscinas beach, where its 50 metre high sands dunes are some of the highest in Europe.

Day 4:
The mines of Sulcis 26 miles (41 km)

Discover Sardinia’s mining heritage as you cycle to the abandoned mines of Planusartu and Acquaresi. Pass the golden beach of Portixeddu and looming rocky face of the Pan di Zucchero cliff to admire the architecture of the old ore washery at Nebida.

Day 5:
Carloforte and Sant'Antioco 27 miles (43 km)

After a beautiful descent to the beachfront village of Fontanamare, reach the town of Portoscuso and take the ferry to Carloforte on San Pietro island, famous for its fresh red tuna. Continue to Sardinia’s second largest island of Sant'Antioco to spend the night in the town of Calasetta.

Day 6:
Sant’Antioco - Tratalias 25 miles (40 km)

Ride through vineyards and olive groves, enjoying the quiet peace of the rolling plains of Sulcis. Back on Sardinia, visit the Pisan Sanctuary in the town of Tratalias, one of the most important monuments of the Sardinian Romanesque period.

Day 7:
Costa del Sud and Nora 36 miles (57 km)

Cycle along the beautiful Costa del Sud with its gleaming white beaches, unspoilt landscapes and imposing cliffs. Visit a 16th century tower, the historic battle-site at Cape Spartivento and the highpoint of Capo Malfatano. Visit the ruins of the pre-Roman settlement at Nora, thought to be the first town founded in Sardinia.

Day 8:
Depart from Pula

Check out after breakfast and make your way home or stay on in Italy.
