Upper Austria’s gentle hills and bottle-green river valleys are simply stunning and the quiet cycle paths of this lesser-visited region are ideal for leisurely cycle holidays. The city of Salzburg makes an impressive starting point and the glistening waters of Austria’s Lake District get this memorable tour off to a great start. As you cycle from Salzburg to Vienna you’ll find a fantastic array of colourful market towns, historic salt mining centres and magnificent monasteries embedded in the undulating hills and lining the waterways.

The forests and fortresses of the Wachau region are a real treat towards the end of the trip - deep in the Danube Valley, the blend of natural and cultural beauty has earned the area its World Heritage status. On your final day, rolling into the elegant city of Vienna rounds off an unforgettable adventure.
