What to expect
See the best of Belgium’s waterside towns and cities, as you tour along towpaths and clear cycle routes from Brussels to Bruges – this easy-going trip is ideal for families and follows flat terrain. The art galleries and ornate Guild Houses of Brussels make a fitting start to this rich cultural tour and pedalling into Bruges on the last day is a real highlight. In Ghent you’ll see one of the world’s most magnificent oil paintings and the cathedral at Antwerp is worth the detour on day three.
When you reach the coast, brave a dip in the North Sea, stretch out on the sand, or do as the Belgians do and pick your way through a beer menu and a bowl of mussels. When you reach the beautiful medieval city of Bruges, look forward to immersing yourself in the cafe culture and working your way through the canalside chocolate shops.
