Pedal through the fertile landscapes which enticed kings, queens and nobles to the Loire Valley from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance period. You’ll cycle along undemanding routes, following riverside paths and quiet backroads that link historic towns such as Orléans and Samur. In a region packed with jaw-dropping architecture, there’s plenty of time to stop off along the way and explore grand chateaux that straddle rivers, stand in elegant parkland and sit on hilltops overlooking ancient towns.

The region’s gourmet cuisine adds an extra dimension to this trip, thanks to the Loire Valley’s rich farmland, green vineyards and dense woodland. Goat's cheese, game and wild boar are local specialities, tarte tatin is available in every patisserie and the chocolates and fruit cakes in Blois are delicious - what’s more, after all that cycling, you can eat as much as you like, guilt-free.
