What to expect
Cycle from the mountain city of Bolzano in the Dolomites to Venice's famous canals and bridges via the glistening shores of Lake Garda. Touring through Veneto’s green landscapes, you’ll bike along riverside paths, picturesque tracks and quiet country roads with a backdrop of mountain peaks – the cycling is easy-going but if you’d like a little help on the up-hills, opt for an electric bike. As you pedal beside the banks of the Adige River, you’ll pass green vineyards and typical Tyrolean villages.
Cooling off in Lake Garda’s clear waters makes a welcome halfway treat and taking a break in Verona to see the pink-hued streets and Roman Arena is well worth it. Away from the crowds visit Vicenza, renownded for its classical Palladio architecture, and Padova, home to one of the oldest Italian and European universities, before of course, the World Heritage city of Venice on the Adriatic coast.
If you prefer to experience this tour with the knowledge of a local guide, why not choose the guided Bolzano to Venice option with a back-up support vehicle.

Bolzano to Venice is a stunningly beautiful route with incredible cycle paths and peaceful country roads through farmland, vineyards and orchards. All the towns had beautiful old centres with interesting architecture and history. There was plenty of variety of places to eat and drink. We were provided with a very good, succinct guide with "at a glance / best of..." information which we used to explore the towns. All tour information was very user friendly and we did not get lost. The bikes were in excellent condition and well equipped. The accommodation was conveniently located and provided ample breakfasts with lots of choice. The hotels are very used to cyclists, we met many on our trip. The complimentary ice-cream voucher and entry to Villa Valmarana Ai Nani was a nice touch and we had a lovely day in Venice at the end of the tour. I would definitely travel with Freedom Treks again.Joanna Jeffreson, July 2018
