Get right under the skin of this green and gastronomic region by combining rural cycles and tours of historic towns with tutored wine tasting and cookery classes. Setting out from the medieval town of Spello, you’ll ride past rolling pastures and vineyard-lined hills. The cycling is mostly easy-going with occasional short climbs but pushing your bikes on the uphills is always allowed.

As you tour between towns and traditional hamlets, you’ll stop off for cookery classes with local chefs and learn how to make regional favourites of antipasti, risotto and fresh pasta. A wine tasting session in the medieval town of Torgiano is something to look forward to and in Spoleto, you'll discover the secrets of authentic Umbrian cuisine. Riding into the pilgrimage town of Assisi brings this tour to a striking finish and spending some time here to appreciate the stunning mountain setting, pink marble buildings and the famous Basilica of St Francis makes for a magnificent end.
