Lithuania's Baltic Coast Bike Tour

Hotel & Bike 7 nights

VISITING: Lithuania

Why we love this tour

"The Curonian Spit is a narrow sandbar, stretching for 60 miles, giving some stunning coastal cycling. The roads are quiet, the sand is white and the beaches are empty. What’s not to like?"

Discover the quiet beaches and seaside villages of Lithuania’s Baltic Coast. Starting and finishing in historic Klaipeda, much of the route follows the official Seaside Cycle Route on dedicated bike paths. Further inland, ride through pine forests and open countryside to Silute where you’re likely to see white storks, the county’s national bird. A ferry ride takes you across the Curonian Lagoon to the Curonian Spit National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, you’ll cycle among sand dunes next to empty beaches, staying in Nida, a beautiful resort town and a home to artists and writers.

The cycling is mostly flat, with some gentle rolling paths through the dunes on the Curonian Spit. Staying in each hotel for at least two nights, you’ll have the chance to get to know your surroundings with the opportunity for rest days or shorter cycle days if you wish. When not cycling, you can explore on foot, swim in the sea, birdwatch or enjoy the local cuisine.

This is a fascinating tour and an insight into a little-known corner of Europe that is well worth visiting.

Please note: for Wednesday arrivals, the tour follows the itinerary below. For Thursday arrivals, the order is slightly different - Day 1 is arrival in Klaipeda. Then cycle day 3's route from Klaipeda to Silute and continue with days 4, 5, 6 and 7. The final cycling day is day 2’s Palanga loop ride.
