Danube River leads the way - again!

Europe’s second-longest river reigns as the most popular cycling location for our customers, with two of our best-selling tours taking place along the Danube. Boasting one of the world’s finest cycle paths, routes linking iconic capital cities, and breathtaking scenery throughout, it’s no surprise that Danube tours have been our customers’ top choice for another year!

Darryl and Saul cycled our Passau to Budapest Boat & Bike Tour back in 2023 and had a wonderful time aboard the MV Vivienne and tracing the Danube. Read their Passau to Budapest Boat & Bike Tour trip report to hear what to expect on a Boat & Bike cycling holiday visiting Germany, Austria and Hungary.

⭐⭐⭐⭐"Fabulous from start to finish. Loved it. Freedom Treks were friendly, helpful and appreciated the tips prior to travel. Our trip went smoothly. Top tip: I am not a serious biker and found the 40-50km per day easy with the e-bike.  Will do it again!" - Sherry Ruddick, September 2025 (Danube River - Passau to Budapest Boat & Bike Tour)

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I highly recommend these folks if you're thinking about a cycling holiday. All the details were taken care of and they patiently answered all my last-minute questions. The accommodations were very comfortable, a good variety and in great locations with good, tasty breakfasts each day. I travelled as a solo female rider and felt perfectly safe and secure throughout my trip. The scenery from Passau to Vienna is really beautiful and varied. There's so much to enjoy. It felt like a true holiday. Thank you!" - Danielle Pearson, May 2025 (Danube - Passau to Vienna Bike Tour)

Amsterdam to Bruges proves to be a familiar favourite

With its world-class cycling infrastructure that is easy to follow, impeccably maintained, and wonderfully flat, the Netherlands truly deserves its reputation as a cycling paradise. As a result, our Amsterdam to Bruges Bike Tour is among our most popular itineraries.

Expect riding between some of the Netherlands and Belgium’s most captivating towns, from the fortified charm of Willemstad to the riverside city of Dordrecht. A standout moment for many of our customers includes cycling past the 19 iconic windmills of Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which Catherine and Saul saw for their own eyes while cycling this tour with their son, James, in May 2025! Read their Amsterdam to Bruges trip report to hear more about their experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐"The Amsterdam to Bruges Bike Tour exceeded our expectations. The routes were scenic and varied, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the Netherlands and Belgium from a different perspective. We particularly enjoyed cycling through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk, and the final day cycling along the coastal route to Belgium was fantastic. Such a relaxing and enjoyable trip, thank you Freedom Treks!" - Katherine Thorley, August 2025

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Nothing but good things to say about Freedom Treks. From the moment I picked up the phone to inquire about a trip to the final hotel goodbye, everything was perfect. [...] All the correspondence helped set the stage for the trip. It was great to receive the packet at the first hotel and be able to review the plan each day. [...] We were a two-person team. One of us used the navigation app, and the other backed up with the travel route. We made our way to each town without an issue. I loved that most of the paths were bike paths or on streets less travelled in the towns. I was so pleased and look forward to another bike trip with Freedom Treks." - Betty O'Leary, September 2025

Porto to Lisbon charms with pristine beaches and pleasant temperatures

Our Porto to Lisbon Bike Tour was a firm Freedom Trekker favourite in 2025, and we put it down to Portugal's prime cycling weather, with year-round warm temperatures and sunny skies cooled by the ocean breeze.

Back in October 2024, Darryl and Evan cycled our Porto to Lisbon Bike Tour and showcased the perfect blend of coastal beauty and cultural heritage that offer plenty to look at while pedalling along each day. Read Evan's Porto to Lisbon trip report to hear more about their time in sunny Portugal.

Lovely Lake Constance

Our Lake Constance Leisurely Bike Tour is a popular choice for customers looking to take it steady with plenty of stops for swimming, taking in the views of the impressive Alps or indulging in an ice cream!

Following the lakeshore for much of the way, you’ll pass green vineyards and orchards against a breathtaking backdrop of the Alps. The stilt houses at the Lake Dwelling Museum are a highlight for many of our customers, followed by the fairy-tale castle in Langenargen and the medieval walled town on Lindau Island.

Our Lake Constance Leisurely Bike Tour is wonderful option for both families and adults travelling without children. For a firsthand perspective, read Catherine’s Lake Constance trip report, where she shares her experience of taking a young family on the tour after she and Saul travelled with their son James in 2022.

⭐⭐⭐⭐"We were extremely happy with this tour. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The bikes were very comfortable. One highlight was the Pfaenderbahn gondola ride up the mountain and the bike ride down in Bregenz." - Cindy Beer, August 2025

⭐⭐⭐⭐"We had a brilliant time on the family circuit round Lake Constance. The places to stay were just right (we particularly enjoyed the spacious Apartment Hotel), the suggested activities kept us busy for hours (the Zeppelin Museum is so captivating), and the bicycles were really comfy, excellently maintained and just right. I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Top tip: Take the time to read the booklet and definitely do the recommended tours. If it’s warm, there are also lots of great places to swim on the lake." - Melissa Grant, July 2025

Slovenia to Croatia - winding down the Istrian Coast

Our Istrian Coast - Trieste to Pula Bike Tour leads our customers along the Istrian peninsula's western coastline from Italy into stunning Slovenia and ending in Croatia. What makes this tour really special (and why our customers love it so much) is the unique combination of a cycling holiday and a typical beach holiday - just with a different beach each day!

Freedom Treks Chairman Richard had a wonderful time on this tour in 2024 with his family. Read his Istrian Coast trip report to hear more about seaside cycling and delicious cuisine.

⭐⭐⭐⭐"An amazing trip from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed it, all staff we spoke to both in the UK and abroad were helpful, polite and knowledgeable." - Lisa Lewisohn, July 2025

⭐⭐⭐⭐"This trip was amazing! The communication regarding the trip was great from the start. [...] We rode through a heatwave in June, so there were lots of stops to swim in the sea, which was close by. There was also lots of riding through forests, olive groves and countryside. Lots of interesting historical sites and buildings along the way and finishing in Pula right next to the Pula Arena was incredible. We were impressed with how bike-friendly this ride was, there were often dedicated bike paths in the towns and every intersection had a pedestrian/bike crossing, and all cars let us pass - so good! There were small stretches on the main road, but we always felt safe. [...] All in all, I couldn't fault this whole service. This is our second trip with Freedom Treks, and we will certainly be using them again. Thank you!!" - Liz Appleton, July 2025
