As we pedal towards the new year, we’ve put together a selection of tours that we've tried out and can highly recommend for 2019. Whether it’s beautiful scenery in Italy, peaceful cycling in Germany and Austria or luxurious cruising around Croatia, these tours demonstrate the best that Europe has to offer in 2019. These tours are all rated 5 out of 5 by our customers too! See what we've selected and read what our customers had to say about each tour below.

Bolzano to Venice - Self-Guided

The stunning shores of Lake Garda, Italy

Beautiful landscapes, world-class food, classical architecture and easy rides; this tour encompasses everything that is great about cycling in Italy. Starting in the Dolomites, you’ll cycle through typical South Tyrolian villages to the cultured city of Trento, before reaching the shimmering shores of Lake Garda. Relax by the lake before cycling on to the historic city of Verona. Marvel at the Roman arena, visit Juliet’s balcony and relax under the gaze of the statues of Greek gods in Piazza delle Erbe. From here, you’ll ride on to the stylish cities of Vicenza and Padova, before reaching the famous canals and lavish piazzas of Venice.

"A great tour through varied landscapes, with decent cycle routes, lovely food and wine and gorgeous scenery, paintings and architecture. We enjoyed the gradual variation from Alto Adige to Veneto, and cycling into the historic town centres was a real highlight." - Cresida Harding

Lake Constance & Rhine Falls

Lake Constance

Get to know the natural beauty of one of Europe’s largest freshwater lakes at your own pace. Starting and ending in the German city of Constance, you’ll follow the beautiful shoreline through Austria and Switzerland. Cycling between charming towns, castles and waterfalls, you’ll have lots of chances to stop and relax with a picnic. You’ll ride quality bikes on car-free paths that are well signposted, and with e-bikes available, this really is a tour for everyone.

"The tour was really good. I have never toured by bike before, so I was a bit nervous as to if I could manage such a tour. But on the contrary, with the e-bikes, I was able to keep up with the more experienced people in my group, and it was a lot of fun. You get to see a lot of the countryside riding a bike, which I really enjoyed." - Liz Stewart

South Dalmatia Deluxe

The luxurious boat 'Melody' which is used on our tour, moored in Croatia

If cruising between Croatia’s breathtaking islands on a luxurious motor yacht sounds ideal, then this is the tour for you. With unbeatable scenery, golden beaches and picturesque harbour towns, you’re never stuck for things to see and do. The cycling can be undulating, but there is always the opportunity to unwind on your boat’s sundeck, taking in some rays and maybe even going for a swim in the crystal clear waters.

"A wonderful way to see Croatia!! Amazing views that changed with every cycle ride, sailing into beautiful ports, turquoise seas, medieval cities, pretty fishing villages, great company, tough ascents but thrilling descents - what a fabulous holiday!! The variation of being at sea, on our cycles, organized city tours and wandering around exploring on our own made the week feel much longer (in a good way!). The boat was beautiful, always clean with plenty of space to relax or just watch the scenery go by." - Vicki Nunn

Danube – Passau to Vienna

The dramatic beauty of Aggstein Castle, near Wachau

With peaceful rides along leafy green riverbanks, fairytale castles and grand cities to discover, this tour offers the very best of cycling along the Danube. The Danube River Cycle Path was Europe's first long-distance cycle path and its miles of paved routes provide leisurely cycling through superb landscapes, with lots of stops to enjoy delicious local food. The famous Schlögener Loop is a highlight of this tour, with its beautiful wooded slopes providing a memorable photo-opportunity. Stopping for a bit of wine tasting in a little Heuriger as you cycle through the vineyards of Wachau is also something that shouldn't be missed!

"A lovely gentle cycling holiday with lovely views. Plenty of beautiful villages to travel through, hotels were excellent and the food was great, we took the half board option and loved it. The bikes were great and the route maps easy to follow, loved the off road cycling. Plenty of time for sightseeing if you want to." - Gil Morton

The beautiful Trulli houses in Alberobello

Travel down the 'heel of Italy' and see the architectural delights of Puglia, cycling quiet country roads, sun-drenched olive groves and gorgeous coastal routes. Romans, Greeks and Spaniards have all influenced Puglia in the shape of amphitheatres, castles and churches, so every stop is interesting. We particularly love the distinctive whitewash 'Trulli' houses in Alberobello and the caves in Matera.

"An excellent tour in an area which provides lots to see and do and as yet seems little known to tourists." - Carole Thomson
