Every year, the Freedom Treks team travels the world to ride our cycling holidays. By cycling routes across a wide range of countries and ability levels, we gain genuine insight into each destination - so the advice we give is based on real, first-hand experience of tours from tropical Thailand to some of our favourite European bike routes.
Kicking off the year in style, Head of Freedom Treks Catherine, Project Manager Saul and their son James returned from Thailand in early January after an unforgettable ride on our Bangkok to Khao Lak Bike Tour. Cycling a combined 388 miles (624 km), they pedalled through stunning coastal scenery, tropical islands, waterfalls, lush plantations and vibrant local communities, enjoying Thailand’s culture and delicious food along the way.
But South East Asia was just the beginning. The cycling momentum continued as the wider Freedom Treks team took to the saddle across multiple countries. Between January and December, eight of our team collectively covered an impressive 2,244 miles (3,611 km), exploring everything from coastal cycle paths and peaceful countryside to historic towns and iconic landscapes.
Read on to discover where the team has been cycling, the countries we explored, and the standout moments from another exciting year of Freedom Treks team adventures.

Baltic Coast: Riga to Tallinn Bike Tour
Darryl and Evan, June 2025
In June 2025, Senior Operations Coordinator Darryl and Sales Consultant Evan cycled from Latvia's capital to Estonia's on our Baltic Coast - Riga to Tallinn Bike Tour. Over nine days, Darryl and Evan cycled over 300 miles along a quiet, lesser-known route through medieval towns, coastal villages, expansive forests and castle-dotted landscapes. They loved every minute, even on the tour's longest day of over 57 miles (92 km)!

Darryl says: "If you're looking for something a bit different and off the beaten track, or you’re a fan of adventure, culture and travel, then you’ll love this tour as much as we did. In just nine days, we cycled through two countries, explored their capital cities, saw stunning national parks, and delved into the local culture."

Cycling to Rouen, France
Darryl, Evan, Saul and Teo, September 2025
In September, Darryl, Evan, Saul and Teo embarked on a personal cycling trip from our office to Rouen, France. Across a long weekend, they cycled a small section of Northern France along quiet roads and enjoyed plenty of sightseeing opportunities - including Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen!
For Evan, cycling highlights included enjoying a tasty dinner in the welcoming and bustling atmosphere of the town in the evening after a long day cycling with his colleagues. As team bonding goes, it doesn't get better than that!
Evan recalls returning to Hove with "high spirits, where everyone was relaxed, proving the team-bonding trip met its objective: reminding us that cycling is the greatest way to soak up new environments and landscapes. Get on your bike!"
Algarve Bike Tour
Darryl, November 2025
November saw Darryl cycling 146 miles (235 km) from the east to the west of Portugal's south coast on our Algarve Bike Tour. Highlights included strolling through charming Tavira's beautifully tiled buildings and historic castle, which offers lovely views over the town’s rooftops. For the rest of the tour, Darryl enjoyed the diverse scenery, including lagoons, rural stretches and coastline.
Darryl says: "While our Algarve Bike Tour is by no means the most challenging on our list (but not to be underestimated), completing the 235 km (146 miles) route still provides a genuine sense of accomplishment. Whether you choose a hybrid or an e-bike, this is a hugely enjoyable tour that features a fantastic variety of terrain and constantly changing, beautiful landscapes."
